Old students of St Augustine’s College, known as APSUNIANS, have announced a GH¢120,000 motivational cash package for the school’s team ahead of the grand finale of the National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ) today.

The package, confirmed to Joy News by the old students, is being led by a trio known as ‘FED’ — Francis, Elton and Duncan.

Under the arrangement, each of the three contestants will receive GHS10,000 for qualifying for the final, while the team’s coordinators and teachers will share GHS10,000.

Should St Augustine’s College win the competition, the three contestants will receive an additional GHS20,000, while the faculty of coordinators and teachers will receive a further GHS10,000.

The old students have also promised an additional, undisclosed package for the team, both in Ghana and abroad, should they emerge winners.

St Augustine’s College, Ghana’s first Catholic second-cycle institution, last won the NSMQ in 2019, when it finished ahead of Presbyterian Boys’ Secondary School (Presec) and St Peter’s Senior High School, who placed second and third respectively.

The stage is now set for what promises to be a fiercely competitive grand finale, with all three finalists determined to deliver an exciting contest.

St Augustine’s College has won the NSMQ twice, including becoming the only Ghanaian school to have won the African Science and Maths Quiz Championship since its inception.
