Twelve schools that lost their preliminary stage contests have qualified for the one-eighth stage of the 2023 National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ).
These schools may have lost but they exited the prelims with high marks that gave them a shot at the next stage.
Following the last prelims contest, the list of runners-up who lost was compiled and the top 12 with impressive scores were chosen for the one-eighth stage.

1. St. Thomas Aquinas SHS: 47
2. Simms SHS: 47
3. Labone SHS: 46
4. Tema Methodist SHS: 44
5. Holy Child School: 43
6. KNUST SHS: 42
7. Mamfe Methodist Girls’ SHS: 41
8. Notre Dame Girls’ SHS: 41
9. SDA SHS, Agona: 40
10. Sunyani SHS: 38
11. St. Peter’s SHS: 37
12. Archbishop Porter Girls’ SHS: 36
Meanwhile, the one-eighth stage will take place in a span of three days, from Wednesday, October 11 to 13.
The 2023 National Science and Maths Quiz is produced by Primetime Limited and sponsored by the Ghana Education Service in partnership with Goil PLC and supported by A.T, Prudential Life Insurance Ghana, and Pepsodent.
