On Thursday, Northern School of Business moved to the next stage of the National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ) by knocking out Bolgatanga SHS and St John’s School at the one-eighth stage.

Jamaldeen Sulemana of Northern School of Business turned things around to secure a slot in the quarter-final stage of the competition.

It was a challenging contest as all three schools closely marked one another to advance to the next stage.

A struggle between who leads the pack in round 1 left Northern School of Business and St John’s School, Sekondi with 6 points.

Proving to be a fierce contest, Bolgatanga SHS scored 5 points.

From zero to hero, David Ababio and Listowel Moro of Bolgatanga SHS rose to the top and scored 13 points in round 2.

Northern School of Business lost their spot and scored 11 points while St John’s School were at the bottom of the pack scored 9 points.

The ‘Problem of the Day’ Round was a hurdle all three schools found difficult to jump.

St John’s School was able to score 1 point but Bolgatanga SHS and Northern School of Business could not earn a point at the end of the round.

Northern School of Business was back in the lead with 24 points in round 4.

Bolgatanga SHS followed with 23 points hoping for a come-back in the last round. St John’s School still in the battle for a spot scored 17 points.

Round 5 proved to be a breath-taking battle as St John’s School rose to 22 points while Northern School of Business and Bolgatanga SHS failed to earn a point.

At the end of the contest, Northern School of Business with 24 points eliminated Bolgatanga SHS and St John’s School.
