The Director General of the National Sports Authority (NSA), Professor Peter Twumasi, has been released on bail by the Legon Police station.
Prof Twumasi was granted the bail after he agreed to pay complainant, Mum and Sons company money due them effective November 7, 2022.
He is also expected to report to the police periodically.

Joy Sports' Muftawu Nabila Abdulai who was at the police station reported that the Director General was in police custody over alleged fraud following the failure of the NSA to pay Mum and Sons company for providing new year hampers to the authority in January this year.
However, reported efforts to receive payments proved futile forcing the company to first, report the NSA to EOCO, and later to the Ministry of Youth and Sports, before involving the Ghana Police Service after it emerged that a different company had been entered as the winner of the contract to provide the hampers.

The police extended invites to Prof Twumasi, Director of the authority, Procurement Officer Ohene Twumasi, his alleged cousin, and Afia Serebour, Director's secretary.
Afia reported to the police on Thursday, but detained in custody, while Prof honoured the invitation on Friday morning. They all went to the police station with their lawyers.
