The Ghana Institute of Procurement and Supply (GIPS), in collaboration with its strategic partners, has announced the second edition of the National Procurement and Supply Chain Conference (NPSC 2026), a flagship event aimed at shaping the future of procurement and supply chain management in Ghana and across Africa.

Scheduled for September 2–3, 2026, at the University of Professional Studies (UPSA) Auditorium in Accra, the conference is expected to bring together procurement professionals, policymakers, business leaders, academics, and development partners to deliberate on practical strategies to advance national development through smart, inclusive, and resilient procurement systems.

Themed "Powering Transformation: smart, inclusive and resilient procurement and supply chains for national development," the conference seeks to position procurement and supply chain management as a critical driver of economic growth, industrialisation, job creation and public sector efficiency.

Organisers say this year's edition will provide a high-level platform for dialogue among key ecosystem players, encourage collaboration and exchange of ideas that can strengthen procurement practices while addressing emerging global and local challenges affecting supply chains.

Highlights of the two-day event will include paper presentations by renowned procurement and supply chain experts, who will share research findings, practical experiences, and innovative solutions to address pressing industry challenges.

The conference will also feature representatives from key state institutions and organisations from across the African continent, creating opportunities for cross-border collaboration and knowledge sharing on procurement reforms and best practices.

Among the distinguished speakers expected at the conference is the Minister for Finance, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, who will deliver insights on building resilient procurement systems that promote sustainable development, economic growth, and long-term national competitiveness.

According to the organisers, the conference reflects GIPS' continued commitment to promoting professionalism, innovation, and ethical standards within Ghana's procurement and supply chain sector, while fostering stronger partnerships between government, academia, and industry.

NPSC 2026 is being organised by the Ghana Institute of Procurement and Supply in collaboration with the Public Procurement Authority (PPA), the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA), Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), GIMPA Training and Consulting, the Office of the Head of the Civil Service and leading audit and advisory firm KPMG.
