The Director of Communications for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Richard Ahiagbah, has said that the party remains the best alternative for Ghanaians in terms of development and independence.
According to him, government will initiate developmental projects in the coming year as it has indicated in the 2023 budget.
Despite the country's economic challenges under the Akufo-Addo led-administration, he urged Ghanaians to anticipate these developments and contend that the NPP remains the nation's best option for governance.
“I entreat Ghanaians to support this government, have faith that in spite of the challenges, they should count it that the NPP is committed and remains the best option
Ghana in terms of development and freedom,” he said on JoyNews’ AM Show on Thursday.
The Communications Director also expressed his excitement about the 2023 budget, highlighting that the budget emphasised on building domestic capacity to exports.
He explained that this was advantageous for the economy because it would enable Ghana to eliminate the cost of foreign exchange that leaves the nation and generate employment opportunities for Ghanaians.
Mr Ahiagbah, however, stated that it would also stabilize the cedi, which will in turn help the nation’s debt to come down, as the strengthening of the cedi "is a significant improvement that would help us recalculate our debt to gross domestic product (GDP)."
