The Volta Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has indicated his party has proven that it deserves another term in government, considering it's performance within the last 6 years.
Makafui Woanyah said that regardless of the economic hardship experienced across the globe, due to a global health crisis and a wide-reaching war, the Akufo-Addo- led-government continues to deliver exceedingly, on its mandate.
He is of the strong conviction that the NPP has justified its call to “break the 8” and continue governing Ghana towards attaining development and economic growth.
He was speaking at a press soiree in Ho, attended by selected members of the inky fraternity and leadership of the NPP in the Volta Region.
“But in spite of the crisis, we have made great strides and continue to make progress as a country. Contrary to what the opposition and critics would want us to believe, Ghana has moved on a great deal”, he stressed.
He said that the government continues to pay salaries of public sector workers, teacher and nursing trainee allowances, sustained the Free SHS, and provided educational infrastructure and completed abandoned projects, including that of the National Democratic Congress government.
He further listed the revival of the National Health Insurance Scheme, posting of nurses and teachers, expanding the housing, road and railway sectors as some major achievements of the Akufo-Addo-led-government.
Zeroing down to the Volta Region, Mr. Makafui Woanyah outlined the progress made on the Eastern Corridor Road, Sokode-Ho dual carriage road, UHAS campus inner roads, Sokode-UHAS-Titrinu bypass Road Project among others.
He said the government delivered all these and sustained its policies, programme, and social interventions without an International Monetary Fund (IMF) bailout.
“This is the economy some propagandists want us to believe is in shambles. All these we have done without any support from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) yet. Government is on top of governance”, he said.
