The former Auditor-General, Daniel Domelevo's first public reaction since the directive from the Presidency to retire is an interesting one.
He was, in a letter signed by President Akufo-Addo’s Secretary, asked to proceed on retirement based on an indication by the Audit Service Board that Mr Domelevo has exceeded the eligible age to remain in the workforce.
“The attention of the President of the Republic has been drawn to records and documents made available to this Office by the Audit Service, that indicate that your date of birth is 1st June, 1960, and that in accordance with article 199 (1) of the Constitution, your date of retirement as Auditor-General was 1st June, 2020,” the March 3 communiqué read.

Mr Domelevo took to his Facebook page moments after the letter signed by Nana Asante Bediatuo was made public and summarise his thoughts in a song from the Methodist Hymn Book (MHB) 10.
"Now thank we all our God
With hearts and hands and voices,
Who wondrous things hath done,
In whom his earth rejoices;
Who, from our mothers’ arms,
Hath blessed us on our way
With countless gifts of love
And still is ours today."
It is unclear the connotation of the song in relation to what many Ghanaians including anti-corruption campaigners have described as the hounding of Mr Domelevo from office.
However, if Martin Rinkart's 1636 lyrics are anything to go by, the former Auditor-General seems satisfied by his works during his tenure as the institution's top official.
Johnson Akuamoa-Asiedu will continue to act in Mr Domelevo’s stead until a substantive appointment is made.
Meanwhile social media users had some thoughts on the the development.
Mr. Domelevo, God bless you for looking after the interests of the ordinary Ghanaian.
It cost you your job but you can take pride in that.
I had my concerns after you were appointed late in 2016 but you proved me wrong.
Sorry for judging you even before you took officepic.twitter.com/kxikU3Ynl9

I hope Domelevo takes the matter to the High Court if indeed he’s not 60 and has been treated unfairly.

No wonder that speech was one of the most embarrassing plagiarized speeches.
But how smelly is the rot that Domelevo cannot be allowed to work and retire in June?pic.twitter.com/NAp9vwTATA

Akufo Addo forced Domelevo to go on leave. He served that leave and now it's time to resume work, the audit service came up with this Togolese nationality issue.
