In recognition of dedication and hard work, the North Dayi District honored its outstanding teachers at the maiden edition of the Best Teachers Awards, organised under the auspices of District Chief Executive Edmund Kudjoh Attah.

The event, held in partnership with the District Education Directorate, celebrated the district's teachers for their relentless commitment to transforming young minds and building a better future for North Dayi.

In an address, District Chief Executive Edmund Kudjoh Attah reaffirmed the government's commitment to education, emphasising it as a public good and a cornerstone of national development.

He highlighted numerous investments made by the NPP-led government to strengthen education across the district and the country, focusing on enhanced teacher support and student resources.

Among the initiatives he mentioned were regular training programs for teachers, the provision of laptops and tablets to students, and the implementation of a professional development allowance, all geared toward empowering teachers to deliver high-quality education.

“Education is the engine of our nation’s progress, and teachers are the drivers of this engine,” Mr. Attah said.

“Our investments are not just financial; they are investments in the lives of every child and the future of our nation. We are equipping our teachers with the tools they need to educate, inspire, and uplift the young minds in our classrooms.”

Mr. Kudjoh Attah further urged teachers to prioritize educating students on personal hygiene, recognizing the importance of nurturing healthy habits alongside academic success.

He also encouraged the District Education Director to work with headteachers to establish school farms, emphasising the value of practical agricultural education.

“Making agriculture attractive to our youth is vital for sustainable livelihoods and community resilience,” he stated, encouraging a new generation to see farming as a viable and valuable career path.

In attendance was the Chief of Anfoega Akloba, Torgbe Odoom Kumato III, who praised teachers as the foundation of societal progress and development.

“Education is the primary catalyst for our growth as a community and as a country,” he noted. “Teachers stand at the heart of this transformative journey, investing selflessly in the future of our young people. They deserve every form of support, recognition, and encouragement we can offer.”

The awardees expressed deep appreciation for the initiative, many of them hopeful that the awards will become a regular tradition.

With heartfelt joy, they sang, “Come and see what Edmund Kudjoh Attah has done for us!” The event recognized a total of sixteen teachers for their outstanding dedication and hard work, while two schools were awarded for excellence in performance and community impact.

Reflecting on the awards, one recipient shared, “This recognition goes beyond the plaque or the certificate. It’s a reminder that our work is seen, appreciated, and valued. We feel motivated to do even more for our students and our district.”

The maiden North Dayi Best Teachers Awards showcased the district’s appreciation for its educators and underscored the government’s commitment to the educational sector.

Through the initiatives highlighted by Mr. Attah, the district is poised to continue developing its educational infrastructure, supporting teachers, and inspiring students, promising a brighter future for North Dayi and its people.
