Ghana coach Kim Lars Björkegren says he is feeling “no pressure at all” ahead of the Black Queens' crucial 2027 Women's World Cup play-off against Ivory Coast on Thursday.
The Women’s senior national team will face their West African rivals in Casablanca, Morocco, with a place in the intercontinental World Cup play-offs at stake.
The match offers the Queens another route to the 2027 global tournament in Brazil after their hopes of securing automatic qualification were ended by Malawi in the quarter-finals of the Women's Africa Cup of Nations.
"For me personally, to be honest, no pressure at all,” Björkegren said during the pre-match conference.
"I do not feel pressure because if I feel pressure, I can't make the right decisions.
"I have been in this game for 20 years as a coach and 10 years as a player, that is my whole life.”
The winner against Ivory Coast will advance to the intercontinental play-offs, where they will face teams from other continents for a place at the tournament.
Ghana has not qualified for the competition since 2007.
