Okatakyie Agyeman Kudom 1V, Omanhene of Nkoranza Traditional Area, has commended government for creating Nkoranza North District with Busunya as its capital, saying it would enhance development in the traditional area. Okatakyie Kudom who is also President of Brong Ahafo Regional House of Chiefs speaking to newsmen at his palace in Nkoranza, noted that citing the capital of the new district at Busunya was more than appropriate and would prevent any agitations from other towns. He explained that there would have been agitations from chiefs and people from other towns such as Kranka and Dromankese for the citing of the capital. The traditional council has sent a letter of appreciation to President John Agyekum Kufuor copied to Mr Kwadwo Adjei-Darko, Minister of Local Government, Rural Development and Environment for creating the new district. In another development, Okatakyie Kudom on behalf of the chiefs and people of the traditional area sent goodwill message for long life and success to President Kufour for surviving a motor accident recently. He described the accident as the most unfortunate event to happen in President Kufuor's life and prayed that God would continue to protect and guide him to continue with his good and exemplary leadership. Okatakyie Kudom called on traditional authorities, religious bodies and Ghanaians to pray for the life of President Kufour and the Ministers to have peace to serve the nation and its people.
