Barely ten days after they hooded their faces and attacked a woman in her room using a toy pistol, two teenage boys have each bagged 15 years in prison.
They were sentenced by Justice Mohammed Iddrisu, sitting at Court 1, Cocoa Affairs in Accra.
Emmanuel Nego and Solomon Tetteh, both 18, had on July 2, this year stormed the room of an Accra Newtown resident and threatened her with a toy pistol and a knife.
The lactating woman’s baby who was making noise had its mouth sealed up with an adhesive, Super Glue.
The woman who struggled with the hoodlums was lucky as neighbours rushed in to her assistance.
The boys were arrested and handed over to the Nima Neighbourhood Watchdog Committee who handed them over to the Police.
The Nima Divisional Police Commander remarked that “we are happy about the speed with which the case was disposed of. It would encourage the Police to work harder”.
In another development three of the five suspects who were arrested in connection with weapons found in a Nima kiosk have been remanded in prison custody as their case was adjourned by an Accra court.
The other two have been transferred to Kumasi where they have been identified as culprits in a number of armed robberies in the Ashanti Regional capital, Konongo and Nkawkaw.
