Hip-life artiste, Castro, is being sought by the police to assist track assassins who killed a 25-year-old man in a shooting incident at the Aphrodisiac Night club a fortnight ago.
The deceased, Darren Danso, who was in the company of his girlfriend (name withheld), was shot twice in the chest in his car when he was about to drive off.
Police sources say Castro and one of his dancers, Ras Kelly, were in the club when the incident happened and would be crucial to police investigations.
Eye witnesses claim the man who pulled the trigger drove off with Ras Kelly in the car.
Investigators say efforts to get Castro and Kelly to assist in investigations have so far proven futile, with several visits to the house of Castro and Ras at Dansoman in Accra yielding nothing.
The police say they also left a number of messages that the two should report at the CID headquarters to assist in investigations but they have not honoured any of the invitations.
The Graphic Showbiz reports a friend of the deceased claiming that a few weeks after Darren returned from London, he (Darren) informed him that he had a business deal with some guys in the UK which turned violent.
He said according to the deceased, he (deceased) fired a shot which injured one of the guys but he did not kill him and the guys vowed to retaliate by killing him wherever they found him.
He said a week before he was shot at, the deceased showed him a text message which read "You are crawling slowly to your grave, we are closing in on you".
Showbiz investigations also revealed that the mother of the deceased had confused the investigators by giving scanty information to the police.
"She does not know the kind of work her son does, she does not know where he lives or the actual day he returned to Ghana .
"She told us she did not know that the deceased had a girlfriend and that the first time she met the lady was at the Airport police station after the incident, which turned out to be false," a police source told Showbiz.
According to the source, investigations so far into the incident are pointing to one Frank White as the prime suspect.
Frank who lives at Dansoman arrived in the country two weeks before the shooting incident and the car that was used by the suspect was said to have been hired by him.
He hired the car on October 4, 2007 in his name and after the incident he called the owners to come for the car in his house because he was travelling.
Furthermore, it was his brother who sustained severe gun shot wounds during the confrontation in the UK in May this year which involved the deceased.
The police have since mounted a search for Frank who is believed to be hiding in the country.
According to a police source, the deceased, who resided in the United Kingdom, came to Ghana in May this year for holidays but had since not returned.
The source said investigations so far into the incident had revealed that at 10.00 p.m. on Thursday, October 11, 2007, the deceased and his girlfriend had gone to the Aphrodisiac Night Club.
It said at about 4a.m., they decided to go back home so they came out of the night club and entered Darren's car. But as he was about to move out of the parking lot, a white VW Jetta saloon car with two occupants pulled up and one occupant jumped out of it.
He walked up to the deceased's car but by then the glasses had been rolled up so the unidentified man knocked on Darren's side of the glass. As soon as Darren opened the door, the gunman fired at him, after which the gunman rushed into the waiting car and it sped off.
The screams of Darren's girlfriend attracted people to the scene who rushed the victim to the Nyaho Clinic close to the night club but he was pronounced dead on arrival. The body has since been deposited at the Police Hospital mortuary awaiting autopsy.
