Private and public orphanages in the Ashanti Region have received support from Luv/Nhyira Abodoo, an annual event organised by the Multimedia Group in Kumasi.
The event held in the Christmas season seeks to make Christmas meaningful for the less privileged.
Cash donations, clothes and food items they receive as part of the Group’s corporate social responsibility to the needy have saved many foster homes from starving.
25 orphanage homes received clothes, food items and an amount of ¢100,000.
Beneficiaries received averagely between ¢1,400 and ¢ 9,300 cash.
Inmates made merry amidst dancing and poetry recital.
Beneficiaries heaped praises on Nhyira FM for championing the cause of the underprivileged.
Gina Duah a Child Care Officer at the Kumasi Children’s Home was grateful to the station for the annual support.
“Nhyira Abodoo gave us 7,000 cedis. Every year, they support us and we’re thankful to them,” she said.
Head of Events and Promotions at The Multimedia Group in Kumasi, Eric Inkoom was grateful to donors for making another successful event.
“We thank all donors who supported us on this course. We’re appealing to the general public we’re still receiving donations,” he appealed.
