The next government steered by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) will ensure high-quality educational standards, good and adequate healthcare for all Ghanaians, Vincent Djokoto, a member of the communications team has said.
The party is also braced to narrow the unemployment figures by increasing entrepreneurial support for Ghanaians, Mr. Djokoto says.
The corporate executive is confident the party will wrestle power from the governing New Patriotic Party in 2024, describing the governance of the Akufo-Addo-led administration as has turning the clock of national development backward.
“For many Ghanaians, the path to success is rigged, and largely depends on elite connections, rather than effort and talent. The duty of government is to build a fairer, more meritocratic Ghanaian society.”
“I am confident the next NDC government would ensure there’s equal opportunity for all. This means access for the most underprivileged and vulnerable Ghanaians to high-quality healthcare, education, and entrepreneurial support. This is what the NDC stands for,” the opposition communicator said.
His comments follow the recent economic crisis which has forced the government to backtrack on an earlier resolve not to seek an IMF bailout.
The Finance Ministry is now leading a debt exchange programme which would aid the government to seal a bailout from the Bretton Woods institution.
Mr. Djokoto believes in 2024, Ghanaians would be confronted with a historic choice: between the NDC which he says is people-centred and the NPP which according to him has failed the populace despite the juicy promises they made to win power.
