Mr Samuel Ofosu Ampofo, National Organiser of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), on Monday told the people of Fanteakwa that his return to contest for the Fanteakwa seat was to offer them effective leadership and development.
He said he wanted to be remembered as the Member of Parliament (MP), who championed the development of Fanteakwa, helped provided employment for the unemployed and contributed in getting schools for the youth, who were having problems in getting admission to schools.
Mr Ampofo said these at a mini rally at Osino in the Fanteakwa Constituency on Sunday.
He observed that, though the people of Mumuadu never voted for the NDC, when the party was in power, it provided employment to people under the National Mobilization Programme (NMP) and the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO).
Mr Ampofo regretted that when the New Patriotic Party (NPP), which had always enjoyed the support of the people of Mumuadu, came to power, instead of showing gratitude to the people for their votes, they rather redeployed the youth from gainful employment.
He said an NDC government would not stop the National Youth Employment Programme or the Zoomlion programme but would rather refine it to create more employment.
Mr Ampofo recounted the number of development projects that he helped to promote in the Mumuadu area and assured the people that when voted as the MP for the area, he would help construct a modern public toilet facility for the area.
He also promised to ensure that an NDC government construct an effective drainage system in the Osino Zongo area to help stop the periodic flooding of the area.
