Former New Patriotic Party (NPP) Members of Parliament (MP) of Ashanti Region from 1996 - 2004 have congratulated Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo on his election as the flag bearer of the Party for Election 2008.
They said: “We have every confidence that with his election, the NPP stands a good chance of emerging the winner of the Presidential seat, come December, 2008.”
Delivering the congratulatory message in Kumasi on Tuesday, Nana Asante Frempong, Former MP for Kwabre and Ashanti Regional Chairman of the Asante Caucus in Parliament expressed the hope that the NPP would hand over power to itself in January 2009.
Flanked by Mr James Adusei-Sarkodie and Dr Edward Baffoe-Bonnie, Former MPs for Atwima-Nwabiagya and Asokwa East, respectively, he commended Nana Akufo-Addo for his efforts to re-mobilize members of Party who had served the Party but felt neglected due to the exigencies and certain circumstances.
They encouraged him to do more to bring all members of the Party on board, especially, its foot soldiers and those who could support the it to retain power next year.
