Steve Jones, New Zealand Trade Commissioner and Consul General for Africa, Middle East and Pakistan and a business delegation from that country have met with Ghanaian entrepreneurs to explore opportunities in the country.
The New Zealand business delegation and their Ghanaian counterpart also used the occasion to create a platform to connect and share ideas.
Investment opportunities discussed include sectors such as Funds Investment, Petroleum and Minerals, Real Estate and Infrastructure, Information and Communication Technology, Resource Manufacturing, Life Sciences, Food and Beverage, Clean Technology, High-Value Manufacturing, Healthcare and Aviation.
Fifteen selected individuals from Ghana's business community, including representatives of companies and corporations, entrepreneurs and business owners attended the meeting.
Steve Jones, who also heads the New Zealand Trade and Enterprise (NZTE), New Zealand's international business development agency, said his outfit is keen on helping businesses from his country reach international markets by building strategic alliances and commercial relationships.
NZTE works with approximately 1500 to 2000 businesses across the globe with an active portfolio of 500 businesses.
The formation of a Ghana-New Zealand Chamber of Trade and Investment, which shall be a platform to promote trade and investment between the two countries was proposed at the meeting.Anchor
The meeting, which took place at the Movenpick Ambassador Hotel in Accra on February 18, 2014, was an initiative of Afrigenius LLC a Ghanaian based investment partnership firm focusing on private equity solutions, investment management, and advisory services.
Afrigenius’s projects focuses on opportunities in Africa and the rest of the world.
