Mr. George Hikah Benson, in-coming Upper West Regional Minister was given a tumultuous welcome from Tumu to the Wa Municipality.
As early as 8 am, motorists had gathered at Kperisi, five kilometres from Wa, until he arrived around 12 noon, and was subsequently ushered into the municipality in a convoy till they reached the forecourt of the Regional Coordinating council.
In an address, Mr. Benson called for unity and cooperation among the people of the region to enable them to judiciously make use of their share of the national cake.
"I have come to gather and not to scatter, heal wounds and not to open them and to continue from where Sahanun Mogtari and Ambrose Dery reached and not to destroy".
Mr. Benson said the administration of a region involved teamwork and told them not to hesitate to point out their misgivings about his administration.
"We do not need to be on each others necks when health, sanitation, education, poverty and other difficult problems are just before us for solution", he concluded
