New Hearts of Oak commercial complex unveiled

After demolishing the club’s secretariat over two years ago for reconstruction, Ghana Premier League side Hearts of Oak has now unveiled their new commercial centre.

The club's old site was demolished in May 2022 to pave the way for a modern edifice that befits the status of the club. After the two-year wait, the club can now boast of a great addition to their facilities.

It's been a difficult period for Hearts of Oak on the pitch in recent years. The Phobians faced the threat of relegation until the final day of last season.

Recently, the team lost the Democracy Cup to Asante Kotoko.

However, off the pitch, they are making massive strides to match their top club status.

The three-storey building is a modern facility that will serve as a commercial centre as management looks to add value to their brand.

"This is a demonstration of our commitment to building an infrastructural base for Accra Hearts of Oak," Togbe Afede XIV said after the contractor handed over the building to the club.

Project Manager Lord Eshun believes the commercial centre will attract the same level of attention as those owned by some of the biggest clubs on the continent

"You are a witness to the edifice, you have been through and you see with the facilities that it has. It's basically a semi-smart building. It has all the facilities that need a commercial building like this to work on," he said.

"I am sure it can be so much comparable to so many within West Africa and Africa."

The management of the club also has plans to include a museum in the newly-built centre which will house some of the achievements and history of Hearts of Oak.

It is the hope of the Phobia Fraternity that the massive progress off the pitch will have a ripple effect on the pitch when the season resumes on September 6.
