New Hearts of Oak CEO faces first tough test

Hearts of Oak CEO Fred Crentsil is faced with his first tough test of holding on to an important member of his playing body after just three weeks in office. Talented 17-year-old playmaker Tawrik Djibril is a transfer target for rivals Kuamsi Asante Kotoko and clubs abroad and his agent Prince Omar wants to make the most of the opportunity. Prince Omar has refused a contract extension for the player; asking Hearts of Oak to match Athletico Madrid’s proposed 1 million dollar move. Fred Crentsil is assessing his options for a tough call of either losing the player or raising the funds. Tawrik Djibril has played sparingly for Hearts this season and the club fans believe a regular place for the young player will improve the teams current positioning of 9th place with just nine points from 7 matches. Meanwhile managers of the league, the Premier League Board is urging clubs to pay more attention to security for their home games. Recent game boycotts due to unsatisfactory security are a worry to the PLB and Chairman Welbeck Abrah Appiah feels the clubs must feel more responsible. Source: Joy Sports/Ghana
