Mr Yakubu Alhassan Bakari, new Coordinating Director of Bawku Municipal Assembly in Upper East Region has assumed office.
He took over from Mr George Anaba, who is on retirement.
When handing over, Mr Anaba expressed appreciation to Mr Abdul-Rahman Gumah, Bawku Municipal Chief Executive, staff, heads of departments and assembly members for their cooperation and support which ensured a successful tenure in office.
He appealed to them to extend the same cooperation and support to Mr Bakari to implement the assembly's policies and programmes for the people.
Mr Bakari called on the staff to be time consciousness in the discharge of their duties to the assembly.
He noted that without their complements and efforts "he would be a drop in an ocean" and urged them to avoid seeking their individual interests at the expense of the development of the municipality.
Mr Gumah expressed concern about how visitors interrupted official duties in the offices for trivial personal issues.
