Nestle Ghana Ltd put up a spirited performance to lift the trophy for both the male and female football competition in Season 4 of the Joy Sports Invitational Tournament played at the Elwak Sports Stadium, Saturday.
Nestle beat the defending male champions team Multimedia 1-0 in a grueling finals. They had early on beaten Zenith Bank in a pulsating penalty shootout in the semi-final.
Multimedia en route to the final, beat Maersk Shipping Ltd, Amal Bank, Stanbic bank before losing to Nestle in the final.
Even though they lost the trophy, Team Multimedia had its striker Ernest Koranteng, pick up the golden boot award with a total of four goals.
The Nestle female team also beat Starlife Insurance in a 2-1 penalty shootout.
The ladies penalty shoot out was more a competition to miss than one to score, with some amazing attempts at goal and an incredibly stunning attempt at goal keeping.
The ceremony was opened with the CEO ball joggling competition, which saw the heads of the various competing teams show some wonderful display.
The competition was characterised with a lot of pomp with the various teams chanting and singing their ‘jama’ songs.
