The presidential candidate of the Convention People's Party (CPP), Dr. Paa Kwesi Nduom has interacted with the Zongo Community at the Abossey Okai Central Mosque in Accra.
The Vice Chairman of the CPP, Dr. Abu Sakawa said the interaction was to afford Dr. Nduom the opportunity to engage the Zongo community in a frank discussion.
That discussion he said was aimed at identifying solution to the problems confronting the community.
According to him, the CPP had considered the problems of Zongo Communities as a fundamental national concern and was going to tackle the matter as such.
Speaking to Joy News, Dr. Nduom said he was keen to point out to the predominantly Muslim community that the CPP was not in the community to organise their boys to go and foment trouble.
Rather, the party was interested in listening to them and finding solutions to their problems.
Dr. Nduom said he was committed to bridging the yawning development gap between the northern and southern sectors of the country.
Asked whether he was considering choosing the daughter of Ghana's first president Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, Samia Nkrumah as his running mate he said the matter was not the priority of the party.
