The National Democratic Congress (NDC) says it will launch its manifesto on Monday, August 31, 2020.
The announcement follows the New Patriotic Party (NPP)'s manifesto launch over the weekend.
The National Communications Officer of the party, Sammy Gyamfi who disclosed this at the 11th edition of the NDC's Weekly Press Briefing said the document has been presented to the party's manifesto committee.
He explained that preparations are currently ongoing to ensure the smooth execution of the event which will be held in Accra.
"The flagbearer of the NDC has indicated that our manifesto will be launched this month.
"I am a member of the manifesto launch committee and it was decided that our manifesto will be launched on the 31st of August," he said.
Ahead of the event, the General Secretary of the NPP, John Boadu has accused the opposition NDC of waiting to steal their ideas, thus the delay to launch its manifesto.
The allegation follows similar ones made against the NDC by the NPP ahead on the 2008 general election.
The then National Chairman of the party, Peter Mac Manu had accused the opposition of poaching policies like the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS), School Feeding Programme, and Metro Mass Transit.
Although these claims were refuted by the NDC, the two parties again clashed in 2016 when they counter accused each other of policy plagiarism.
But Sammy Gyamfi said the yet-to-be-launched document seeks to address daily issues faced by the people and restore hope.
