The country's number one credible news portal Myjoyonline.com was on Saturday awarded the Best Digital Media for 2019 by the Chartered Institute of Marketing, Ghana (CIMG).
The portal also won the Institutes' maiden best New Media Campaign at an event held at the Labadi Beach Hotel.
Myjoyonline.com since its inception in 2007 has become the reference point for general, political, sports, entertainment and business news due to its accuracy, factual and professional online news reportings.
CIMG said the news portal has gone ahead of its competitors to amplify the content of its traditional radio [Joy FM] and television station [JoyNews] to serve its local and global audience.
It acknowledged the length Myjoyonline.com goes to increase reach for traditional media content through its online radio listenership as well as communicating online content throughout its radio and tv programming.
The Institute lauded the news portal for taking live happenings on traditional media to another level through innovative reportage.
"You were able to use your Segmentation, Targeting and Positioning (STP) tools to define and engage with a target audience who have raised your profile to an unprecedented high," the Institue said.
It further acknowledged the news portal's sharp rise on the Alexa ranking as it "remains a household name attracting a wider listenership and sponsors who want to associate with your brand."
