A member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) legal team, Godwin Edudzi Tamaklo, says he experienced a surge of anxiety and high blood pressure as he awaited the Court of Appeal’s verdict on the Ambulance case.

The court acquitted and discharged Minority Leader, Cassiel Ato Forson and businessman Richard Jakpa, who had been accused of causing a €2.37 million financial loss to the State in a deal involving the purchase of 200 ambulances between 2014 and 2016.

The Appeal Court ruled that the two had no case to answer, reversing an earlier High Court decision.

Speaking on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen programme on Tueaday, Mr. Tameklo said, “My blood pressure went high, and my heart felt like it was somewhere else.”

He admitted that, he had not felt this way for a long time and that he was anxiously waiting until the judge bgan reading the judgment.

Mr. Tamakloe expressed his relief by saying, “My only words were hallelujah,” adding that he was quite tense throughout the process.

He explained that, the Court of Appeal’s decision to uphold the submission of no case means that the entire trial at the High Court has been effectively nullified.

“It means everything has been aborted,” he concluded.
