Muntari admits Stars lame show

Black Stars midfielder Sulley Muntari admitted that the team struggled to find their feet and panted for breath in Sunday's joint 2010 qualifiers against Benin at the Baba Yara Stadium. The Inter Milan ace was a pale shadow of his former self and had to be substituted after 86 minutes. Muntari had two bright moments in the match when he assisted with his cross for Prince Tagoe to stab in and a pile driver smashing the woodwork with four minutes left on the clock. The 24-year-old believes Ghana can take consolation from the win and improve in their next match against Mali on 6 June. "Today wasn't a good day but the most important thing is that we got the three points so we are happy about it," Muntari revealed in a post match interview. "We knew exactly they are a very good side. We played them in Accra, I think last year, and they were a good side so we knew we were going to face a tough team. "They are good players so they can dominate but the most important thing is that we got the first goal so we got the win that is the most important thing. "It's going to be difficult because the path to the world cup is always." Ghana jumped to the summit of the Group D table with the win, two points more than Mali and Sudan who drew one-all in Khartoum. Source: Ghanasoccernet
