MTN Ghana has announced the completion of 80% of its extensive network upgrade, which began in June 2024 and is expected to conclude in August 2024.
This upgrade involves replacing existing mobile network infrastructure with more efficient and environmentally friendly equipment.
Thomas Motlepa, Chief Technical Officer (CTO) of MTN Ghana, noted that the company's commitment to delivering exceptional network service to its customers.
“Our customers remain at the core of our business. This upgrade will ensure that we have a more reliable and robust network and help to achieve network virtualisation and increased capacity for optimum service delivery,” he stated.
Mr. Motlepa expressed gratitude to stakeholders and customers for their patience and support during the upgrade period, acknowledging some intermittent network disruptions.
“We are thankful to our valued customers and stakeholders for their patience and support during this period,” he noted.
The network modernisation is slated for completion by the end of August 2024.

MTN Ghana remains on track to invest $1 billion in its network by 2025, continuing its efforts to expand coverage, enhance customer data experiences, and promote sustainable practices.
