“MTN wishes to state that the text messages are fraudulent and do not originate from MTN. Subscribers who receive text messages of this nature are strongly advised to disregard them,” the statement said.
MTN said subscribers can access all genuine MTN promotions from the official MTN website www.mtn.com.gh, the MTN official facebook page - www.facebook.com/MTNGH. OR MTN’s 24-hour dedicated Customer Care hotline 111.
“In order to avoid becoming the victim of such scams, subscribers are encouraged to take note of the following:
• All promotions from MTN Ghana can be authenticated on the official MTN website www.mtn.com.gh or facebook page www.facebook.com/MTNGH.
• MTN does NOT charge ANY money to enable subscribers participate in a promotion or redeem a prize.
• MTN will always publish the names of winners of all MTN Promotions.
• MTN will directly call all winners of promotions organized by the company by using the official MTN line 0244300000.
