An 85th minute own-goal saw the Black Meteors narrowly lose away to Mozambique U-23 side in Maputo.
Ghana’s Under-23’s looked poised to snatching a draw in the first leg of the final qualifying round to the 2015 All-Africa Games but were undone when midfielder Kojo Poku turned the ball into his own net in a goal mouth melee just five minutes from full time.
Coach Malik Jabir and his men are now faced with having to beat the Mambinhas by a two-goal margin at home in the second leg to stand any chance of qualification to the competition in Congo Brazzaville.
Ghana will host Mozambique in the second leg on either April 4 or 5.
