The committee charged with the responsibility of consulting with all interest parties on a possible review of the recently announced motor insurance premium hikes begins work Tuesday.
The committee is supposed to conclude its work in the next month for the new rates to take effect from July 1.
Members of the committee are to be sworn-in by the commissioner of the National Insurance Commission on Tuesday and are drawn from the NIC, Ghana Insurers Association and the two commercial transport unions - GRTCC and GPRTU.
It also has members from the Consumer Protection Agency, Ghana Insurance Brokers Association and National Road Safety Commission.
Other members include the Ghana National Association of Passengers and the Akwaaba Foundation.
The committee was put in place by the NIC after the Transport Minister called for the suspension of the new motor insurance premium early on this month for lack of exhaustive consultations.
