The Director General of National Security (DGSN) and Territorial Surveillance (DGST), Abdellatif Hammouchi, has paid a working visit to Germany from June 24 to 26.
During this visit, he held talks with officials from the German Federal Police (Bundespolizei) and the Federal Criminal Police Office (BKA) to discuss ways to strengthen bilateral security cooperation.
Mr. Hammouchi's visit, made at the official invitation of the German side, included working sessions with Dieter Romann, President of Bundespolizei, Holger Münch, Head of BKA, and other German security officials specialising in counter-terrorism and sports security, according to a press release from the DGSN-DGST hub.
The discussions primarily focused on enhancing bilateral cooperation in fighting terrorism and organized cross-border crime, as well as ensuring the security of major sporting events.

Mr. Hammouchi and his German counterparts also reviewed the current state of their police cooperation and addressed regional and international security challenges.
During his visit, Mr. Hammouchi and his delegation visited the German Joint Counter-Terrorism Centre in Berlin.
There, they were briefed on the centre's coordination mechanisms among various German security agencies and explored potential cooperation with Moroccan security services to combat cross-border terrorist threats.
The visit also provided an opportunity to discuss cooperation in sports security and the exchange of expertise and technical assistance between Morocco and Germany for securing major events.
Mr Hammouchi was informed about the security arrangements and standards adopted by Berlin police to secure the UEFA Cup, currently being organised by Germany.
To further cooperation in this area, Mr Hammouchi led a high-level Moroccan security delegation on a field visit with the BKA Head to Berlin's Olympic Stadium, which is hosting Euro 2024 games.

They also visited the police operations management centre, which oversees safety and security protocols during the soccer event.
This visit is part of Morocco's advanced preparations to host global and continental sporting and security events, starting with the 93rd Interpol General Assembly in Marrakech next year, followed by the 2025 African Cup of Nations, and the 2030 World Cup, which Morocco will co-host with Spain and Portugal.
The official visit underscores the importance of bilateral security cooperation between Morocco and Germany in various security areas of common interest.
It reflects the firm commitment of DGSN and DGST to international efforts to mitigate risks and threats to regional and international security, the press release concluded.
