More Ghanaian youth are going to receive digital skills training as part of efforts to boost employment opportunities for the youth in the digital economy space.
The New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer for the 2024 elections, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia said about 5,000 youth from the Atwima Nwabiagya South constituency would benefit from the digital skills training programme.
Addressing a mini rally at Abuakwa as part of his campaign tour of the constituency, he said the objective was to provide the youth with skills and expertise that would create employment opportunities for them in digital, and technological space to improve upon their living conditions.
Dr Bawumia, said as a Vice President of Ghana, he had worked to support the President to develop and implement about 33 new policies and projects that had helped position the country firmly in the digital and technological highway.
He said what Ghana needed today was the ability to take full advantage of technology to transform the country’s economy.
Dr Bawumia pointed out that his vision was to use technology to promote inclusivity in governance, economy, education, health, and all other aspects of human activity.
This, according to him, was the surest way for the country to be part of the fourth industrial revolution.
He urged the people in the area to massively vote for the NPP to continue with the various intervention programmes that were helping to improve the lives of the people.
The NPP Parliamentary Candidate (PC) for the area, Shirley Tiwaa Kyei thanked the supporters for embracing Dr Bawumia in their numbers and asked them to transfer that into voting to maintain their historical unflinching support for the party.
She stressed the need for Ghanaians to trust Dr Bawumia for his visionary, unifying, humble, competent, and other leadership qualities and give him the mandate to enable him to implement his initiatives for the benefit of all Ghanaians.
