A 24-year-old mobile money vendor, identified only as ‘Junior’, has been killed in his one-room apartment at Kwadaso in the Ashanti region.
The unknown assailants are alleged to have bolted with an undisclosed amount of money.
The deceased, who runs his MoMo business at the Kwadaso Onion Market, was found in a pool of blood in his room.
Eyewitnesses claim the deceased returned home Saturday night with a substantial amount of money, which they suspect might have exposed him to the attack.
“He mostly comes home with huge sums of money after closing from work,” said a neighbour. “He probably caught the attention of the robbers leading to his attack”.

The police have launched an investigation into the matter but no arrest has been made.
Last month, a 27-year-old MoMo vendor, Patricia Nimako, was also shot dead at Krofrom in Kumasi. The suspected armed robbers bolted with an amount of ten thousand Ghana cedis and mobile phones.
Residents of Kwadaso are appealing for improved security in the area.
“We are currently in a state of fear and we are calling on the Ashanti regional police command to beef up security in Kwadaso,” said a resident.
