A mobile money vendor has been shot to death by men believed to be armed robbers at Awutu Adawukwa near Bawjiase in the Awutu Senya West District in the Central Region.
The victim, known only as Atsu, was attacked by the gang numbering about seven on Thursday.
An eyewitness, Isaac Baah who spoke to Adom News' Kofi Adjei said a member of the gang approached the vendor under the pretext of requesting assistance from him to find their way.
He said while the vendor was giving directions to Amasaman as requested by one of the suspects, the others confronted him with guns and asked for his sales.
Mr Atsu is alleged to have refused to hand over the money resulting in the firing of three warning shots.
Isaac Baah explained that it was during the back and forth that the deceased was also shot in the chest and stomach, leading to his death.
Meanwhile, the Bawjiase District Police Command have since taken over the issue.
