The Minority in Parliament is expected to hold a crunch meeting later today to take a firm decision on the refusal of the First Deputy Speaker, Joseph Osei Owusu, to admit a motion by the Minority Leader, Haruna Iddrissu.

The motion filed last week, protested what it described as a bias ruling and sought to set aside the approval of the 2022 budget.

Mr Idrrisu filed the motion challenging the First Deputy Speaker’s ruling after his earlier motion seeking to reverse the approval of the 2022 budget was rejected.

He argued that the December 1 ruling contravenes the rules, conventions and practices of the House and was actuated by bias.

But the Bekwai lawmaker directed the Clerk of Parliament, through a letter, to inform the Minority Leader that his motion has not been admitted.

The NDC MPs, unhappy with the latest development, have scheduled a meeting to make a determination on the rejection of their motion.

JoyNews' sources say some members are pushing the leadership to abandon its quest in the pursuit to reverse the budget approval and rather channel their energies into "exposing the wastage of the Akufo-Addo administration captured in the 2022 budget estimates."

Meanwhile, leadership of the House has set up a bi-partisan 20-member committee to look into the controversy and tussles that have characterised the approval of the 2022 budget.

The Committee is made up of 10 members each from the Minority and Majority Cauces.
