The Ministry of Manpower, Youth and Employment said on Tuesday that it was “taking all urgent steps” to have all outstanding allowances due personnel of the National Youth Employment (NYEP) paid by the end of next week.
A statement signed by Mr Leo Kabah Alow on behalf of the Minister said they were “fully aware” of the delay in the payment of the allowances.
“We appreciate the contribution of all the youth of the NYEP to national development, and we shall do everything possible to let them have whatever is due them,” it said.
Personnel of the NYEP have been complaining for months that their allowances are not being paid.
