The Ministry of the Interior has approved a one-week extension request by the fact-finding committee investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of George Kojo Atuah, alias Maclean, a commercial driver at Suhum.
A statement signed by the Sector Minister, Mr Kwamena Bartels, said the extension would enable the Committee to put together its final report and complete its assignment.
The Committee was to have submitted its report August 24.
The Ministry assured the public and the bereaved family of its maximum support to the Committee where necessary to enable it to meet the deadline.
The Committee was set up to investigate the circumstances of the death of Atuah who was allegedly beaten by policemen.
