The Minister of Public Enterprises, Joseph Cudjoe, has been honoured for his “exemplary leadership and dedication,” which has led to significant improvements, particularly in the financial performance of the country’s public enterprises.
At the recently held Public Enterprises League Table (PELT) and Awards ceremony at Rock City Hotel in Kwahu Mpraeso, Mr Cudjoe was applauded for spearheading an innovative and inspiring push in addressing the “sixty-seven” years of challenges confronting public enterprises.
A citation in his honour read: “The achievements recorded, including improved financial reporting compliance, transparency, and accountability, cannot be written without your name.”
“As the oversight minister, you have facilitated the approval of key policies and policy documents for the sector. These include the list of Specified Entities; State Ownership Policy; Code of Corporate Governance for Specified Entities and Public Service Organizations; and the Performance Management Framework.”
Together with his team at the Ministry, Joseph Cudjoe has collaborated with SIGA to achieve several milestones, including the recent completion and publication of the 2023 Ownership Report.
The citation also commends Joseph Cudjoe for strengthening the Public Enterprise governance architecture by aligning the relationship between the Parliamentary Select Committee on Public Administration and State Interests with “PES and SIGA."
PELT, an initiative introduced by Joseph Cudjoe, aims to promote healthy competition among Specified Entities by providing a basis to benchmark their performance against peers.
The Food and Drugs Authority FDA won the overall Specified Entity of the Year award for both 2022 and 2023.
