Mr Alex Tettey-Enyo, Minister for Education, on Tuesday called for technological assistance and funding for the development of the country's newly targeted areas of development. "There are areas that we lack the needed expertise to develop so we need both human and material resource that would enable us to reach the targeted destination.” Mr Tettey-Enyo was speaking during a courtesy call on him at the office by the Ambassador of Iran to Ghana Mr. Valiollah Mohammadi who was accompanied by Mr Masoud Ghaeli, Counsellor of the Iranian Embassy. He said there were a lot of mutual benefits that the two countries stood to gain through effective technological cooperation. Mr Tettey-Enyo commended Iran for its contributions to the development of education in the country and appealed for the establishment of more educational institutions in the country. Mr Mohammadi said the development of a vibrant, education, health and agricultural sectors were instrumental in the country's economic success. "There is lack of knowledge on technological development between these two countries and there is the need to organize exchange programmes between us in order to promote technical cooperation. Iran is ready to share its experiences with Ghana after more than 30 years of relationship." He commended Ghana for the conduct of peaceful elections as well as the establishment of a consulate in Iran. Source: GNA
