Felix Quarm, a 31-year-old mining sampler at Nkroful, on Tuesday appeared before a Sekondi District Magistrate’s Court for allegedly indecently assaulting an 11-year-old girl.
He pleaded guilty to the charge and was remanded to re-appear on June 5, 2008.
Prosecuting, Police Chief Inspector Henry Nana Gyebi said on May 4 the victim was on her way to the father’s house when the accused called her.
He said the accused told the victim that the father had given him money to be given to her.
He subsequently took her to his house under the pretext of going to give her the money.
While in his house the prosecution said the accused removed the girl’s pants and inserted his fingers into her vagina after which he gave her 1 Ghana cedi and asked her to go.
Chief Inspector Gyebi said the next day the father of the girl saw blood stains in the victim pants and questioned her.
She narrated her ordeal to the father who reported the matter to the police and the accused was arrested.
