This Sunday’s round of matches in the Glo Premier League throws a number of challenges both at the summit and at the bottom ranks of the table.
Eight clubs - AshantiGold, Hearts of Oak, Aduana, Kessben, All Stars, Heart of Lions, Liberty and Asante Kotoko – are all in with a mathematical chance of winning the title with eight matches to go.
However, beginning this weekend, the title destination would be shaping up perfectly.
New leaders, AshantiGold will have their mettle tested when they travel to the capital, Accra, to face Liberty Professionals.
The Miners have been in fine form though they are level on points with champions Hearts of Oak and would be keen not to allow their short stay at the summit ruined.
Hearts of Oak will be at home to Wa All Stars at the Ohene Djan Stadium. For the Phobians, it’s a must win game if they are to possibly go top of the standings or maintain the chase for the title.
After surrendering their lead at the top, Aduana Stars will be visitors at the Len Clay Stadium where they play against New Edubiase, who are battling with relegation.
The Golden City Park will host the clash between home side, Berekum Arsenal and Kessben FC while Real Tamale United welcome Eleven Wise to the Tamale Sports Stadium.
Asante Kotoko, fresh from their crucial loss over the weekend to Hearts of Oak will head into the Kumasi derby at the Baba Yara Stadium against King Faisal.
The Porcupine Warriors need a win to shore up some points and keep their title aspirations alive.
At the Kpando Park, Heart of Lions will host Great Olympics, who have slipped into the bottom three as their inconsistency in the league continues to show.
Basement boys, Hasaacas will be at home to Beechem Chelsea at the Sekondi Sports Stadium.
