Actor and broadcaster, Mikki Osei Berko has been unveiled as the brand ambassador of Piccadilly Biscuits Limited.
The two-year contract is intended to accelerate and intensify the company’s marketing campaign to maintain its position as one of Ghana’s leading food manufacturing brands.
Speaking to Joy News, Managing Director of Piccadilly Biscuits, Roy Somers, said as part of its 65th anniversary, the company has also unveiled two new products - Piccadilly Finest Crackers and Piccadilly Pop Corn for the Ghanaian market.
“Piccadilly Biscuits has always led the way of innovation in the industry and our products showcase we are a market leader” he said.
Touching on the rationale for engaging Mikki Osei Berko as a brand ambassador, Mr Somers said “Mikki Osei Berko perfectly embodies all that the company stands for and he has been in the media as a presenter, actor, producer, filmmaker and the face of other bigger brands for a very long time.
"Twenty-nine years of existence in the media space brings enormous opportunities to the marketing communication space. The management of Piccadilly Biscuits Limited is excited about working with him and we know that this relationship will benefit both sides on a strategic level.”
Mikki Osei Berko expressed delight at the opportunity to represent a brand he grew up knowing very well.
“For Piccadilly, a brand that is older than I am, finding it necessary to celebrate this milestone with the unveiling of a brand ambassador that I chose. It has been quite emotional for me…money is important but this relationship is more important to me and my brand than money,” he said.
He also commended the team at Hi-Lynks Communication for making all of this possible.
