Brong Ahafo United beat Soccer Warriors 3-1 in their Zone One opening match of the Division One Middle League played at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Wednesday.
Warriors shot into the lead barely three minutes into the game through striker Mohammed Maharanu who took advantage of a defensive blunder by the B.A United defenders to place the ball at the back of the net.
B.A United took up the challenge and reorganized in midfield as they pushed more men upfront and this yielded dividends in the eighth minute when Prosper Abrefa connected home an in swinger from Seidu Abu.
Ransford Cudjoe of B.A. made it two in the 20th minute when he scored a spectacular goal and was on target to score the third goal in the 37th minute to seal the game.
Warriors in the second half stepped up their game in search of goals to redeem their image but the watertight defence of B.A. thwarted most of their attempts at goal to end the match.
In another match, Chelsea defeated Upper Stars 2-1 at the Prempeh College Park in Kumasi.
