Parliament has postponed the 2022 Mid-Year Budget Review which was scheduled this week until the government’s engagements with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) are completed.
The postponement is to afford the Finance Minister and his team time to fully cooperate with the IMF team.
The Mid-Year Budget Review will now be delivered on Wednesday, July 27.
This was revealed by the Majority Leader, Osei Kyei-Mensa-Bonsu on Thursday, July 7.
According to him, the ongoing meetings with the IMF involves the Finance Minister and his team.
He said this when he presented the Business Statement for this week.
Meanwhile, the visiting team from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) is expected to engage the Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, today. Tuesday, July 12, as part of its data gathering and engagement with the government.
This is one of the high-level meetings that the team will be holding together with the government’s policy and technical team.
Joy Business is learning that there have been some discussions that have centered on possible programme design for Ghana.
The team will, later in the day, hold some meetings with the Finance Committee of Parliament.
These meetings are expected to ensure that any programme for Ghana has the support of all stakeholders in the country.
