President Akufo-Addo has presented his list of ambassadorial nominees to the Council of State for approval.
The list, made up of 33 persons, includes former Minister of Local Government and Rural Development Hajia Alima Mahama and former Chief of Defence Staff Lt. Gen. (Rtd) Obed Boamah Akwa.
While Hajia Alima Mahama has been asked to head Ghana’s mission in Washington DC, United States of America, the former Chief of Defence Staff is heading to Egypt.
Again, the list indicated that the 2016 Flagbearer of the People’s National Convention (PNC), Edward Nasigri Mahama who was made Ambassador-at-Large in the first administration has been replaced by Michael Ofori-Atta.
Also, former Lands and Natural Resources Minister, Kwaku Asomah-Cheremeh is to head the country's mission in Beijing/ China.
The President also wants Papa Owusu-Ankomah to still be in London, UK while Alhaji Rashid Bawa will also continue to be in Abuja, Nigeria.
Others are former Managing Director of GCB Bank, Anselm Ransford Sowah; Ottawa/Canada, Sylvia Naa Adaawa Annoh; Copenhagen/Denmark, Christine Churcher; Cotonou/Benin, Adabila Boniface Gamnila; Ouagadougou/Burkina Faso and Samuel Yaw Nsiah; Havana/Cuba.
