Parliament has approved Michael Harry Yamson as the Administrator of the District Assemblies Common Fund (DACF).
His appointment was confirmed following a unanimous recommendation by the Appointments Committee, which cited his competence, extensive expertise, and ability to manage the responsibilities associated with the role.
Mr Yamson appeared before the Appointments Committee on Thursday, 20th March 2025, where he responded to various questions from committee members regarding his suitability for the position.
His responses were well-received, reinforcing confidence in his ability to oversee the effective allocation and management of the DACF.
During his vetting, he assured Ghanaians of his commitment to transparency and efficiency in the administration of the fund.
He emphasised that his extensive experience in managing large-scale financial resources positions him well to ensure the fund is utilised effectively for the benefit of local assemblies.
Mr Yamson also highlighted his professional background in the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) and telecommunications industries.
He noted that his experience in these sectors has provided him with the financial and operational expertise necessary to excel in his new role.
With his confirmation, stakeholders expect a strengthened approach to the management of the DACF, ensuring that funds are disbursed efficiently to support development projects at the district level.
