FED KASTLE Promotions, a non-governmental organisation (NGO) based in Saltpond in the Central Region, has donated a telephone to the Mfantseman District Branch of the National Ambulance Service.
Making the presentation on Tuesday at Mankessim, Mr. Francis Ejaaku Donkoh, Executive Director of the NGO, said the gesture was aimed at improving the communication system of the National Ambulance Service.
He noted that some people found it difficult to contact the Ambulance due to poor communication systems.
The Executive Director commended the government for introducing the National Ambulance Service to improve health delivery.
He appealed to the people in the area to support the Service to enable it work effectively.
Mr Samuel Alabo, District Fire Officer, exercising over sight responsibility over the Ambulance Service, received the equipment and thanked the NGO for the gesture.
He assured the NGO that the equipment would be put to judicious use and appealed to individuals and organisations for more support for the Service and reminded the people that the vehicles of the Service were not meant for conveying dead bodies.
