You know, I had a totally different message lined up for you until about twenty minutes ago, when a two-minute telephone conversation made me quickly rewrite today's Message from the Morning Man.
I got a phone call from a lady who has a 14 year-old son called Edgar.
Apparently, young Edgar refuses to leave the house in the morning until he has listened to the Message from the Morning Man right here on the Super Morning Show.
When I heard about this young man, not only was I humbled and honoured that anyone would be so affected by the messages I write, but I was also very impressed by the diligence with which he sought out positive information and consumed it so religiously.
I realise there are many of you out there like Edgar who start your days with me, and I felt I ought to take today just to thank you from the bottom of my heart for starting the day with me every morning without fail since I started hosting this show.
There are some of you who are tuning in for the first time this morning. I want to welcome you all to the family, and recommend 14-year-old Edgar's daily ritual to you.
You see, much wiser men than I, have been explaining to us for centuries the simple principle of Garbage In, Garbage Out. Whatever you allow in becomes what you let out. If you consume positivity, you exude positivity. Nobody eats apples and poops pears.
Starting your day with a message of inspiration will surely make you an inspiration. Today, I have changed my entire message because I have been inspired by a young man who consumes inspiration every morning.
Whatever you wish to become, surround yourself with it. eat, drink and sleep it. Soak yourself in it. Top it up daily before it wears off. Consume it deliberately and continuously, until you become it. It's not a philosophy, it's physics. Just test my words, and thank me later.
My name is Kojo Yankson, and they say motivation doesn't last - well, neither does bathing - which is why I recommend it daily.
GOOD MORNING, GHANAFO!
